Indie Spotlight - Caffeine

Each week the DRM Gamecast will highlight one Indie game that we feel is worth looking into. Every game listed has a planned console release for the Xbox One and/or PS4.

Caffeine

From solo indie developer Dylan Brown comes Caffine A quirky first person psychological horror adventure game with environmental puzzles. The story is as follow:

Set in the near future, the entire population of Earth is vigorously addicted to coffee. Massive space stations built by the biggest corporations roam the stars mining minerals to create a synthetic caffeine to quench the never ending thirst of the human race.

You awaken aboard one of these caffeine mining stations, alone. Before long you realize that you are a young boy with no memory of what has transpired on this seemingly empty space station.

Naturally you set out to explore the depths of the huge structure to figure out what exactly is going on.

Key Features:

  • Horror – You are alone in a mysteriously empty space station. Who knows what’s out there!
  • Lore – Sticky notes, audio logs, whiteboards etc. This place feels lived in with each character having a rich back-story that can be deciphered from just walking into an office or quarters.
  • Puzzles– interesting environmental and memory based puzzles.

Caffeine has a planned late 2015 release for Xbox One and PS4. You can try a free PC demo at The Rift Arcade The game will also support Oculus Rift, 4K, and 8K. For more information you can follow Dylan Brown on Twitter or visit the games official webpage.
